University of Oulu contract expands – Oulu University of Applied Sciences manage their innovations in Greip®
University of Oulu is an international science university which creates innovations for the future, well-being, and knowledge through research and forward-thinking education. Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) introduces successful experts and well-being to the northern region, supporting the development of Oulu and Northern Finland with their research, development and innovation work.
Protecting and utilizing the results of said research has become increasingly important for the universities. With well-managed digital processes for identifying inventions and building patent portfolios, it is possible to build out-licensing opportunities and enable new businesses to take their technologies further.
In addition to the invention reports and patents, University of Oulu has utilized Greip® for years by managing related license agreements there as well as controlling of cohort material (https://www.oulu.fi/nfbc/).
As the two universities merged their internal services during 2020, Oamk has also started to use Greip®. Being at the same campus in Linnanmaa (Europe’s biggest campus) brings even more multidisciplinary activities and people together enabling opportunities for new ideas, inventions, and innovations.
Vice Rector, Jyrki Laitinen from Oamk: “The introduction of Greip® will both accelerate and organize Oamk’s innovation process. The system, shared with the University of Oulu, will enable the support of both universities and their experts in order to assist innovators.”
